Job summary

Recover is recruiting an Engagement Coordinator to be the first point of contact for people seeking treatment. You will handle inbound calls and outbound outreach, guiding clients through enrollment and insurance steps while scheduling initial appointments.

This fully remote role is ideal for someone organized, self-motivated, and comfortable in a fast-paced, client-centred environment, reporting to the Head of Partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• 1+ year of client-facing experience.
• Familiarity with healthcare.
• Ability to manage a high volume of calls independently.
• Experience in addiction treatment or behavioral health settings.
• Lived experience with substance use disorders.
• Certified or Registered Alcohol Drug Counselor (RADT, CADC-I or higher) preferred.
• Experience with EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls from patients seeking treatment.
• Make outbound calls to referred individuals, sharing Recover’s services.
• Follow up with prospective clients about enrollment and insurance.

About the company

Recover is a startup working to make addiction treatment and mental healthcare more effective, accessible, and affordable. We work with governments to use technology and medicine to improve outcomes for people who need care.

Our program is a tech-enabled treatment program for people with substance use and mental health challenges. We use a harm reduction approach to treatment, and are focused on serving marginalized and underserved communities. We are a small team growing quickly, and looking for people to grow with us.

Our team includes people from Yale Law, UCLA School of Medicine, Harvard Medical School, and White House alums.

The opportunity

As an Engagement Coordinator for Recover, you’ll be the first point of contact for people looking to access treatment. You’ll handle inbound calls from prospective clients and make outbound calls to individuals referred to our program, helping them understand what Recover offers and getting them started with care.

Your core focus will be sharing information about Recover’s services, confirming insurance status, walking clients through enrollment, and scheduling appointments. You’ll be the welcoming, organized person who helps clients navigate the path from referral to their first appointment.

Some clients will engage right away, while others may require follow-up and continued outreach. This also includes re-engaging clients who were previously in treatment, helping them reconnect to services and continue their recovery journey.

This role is fully remote and best suited for someone who is organized, self‑motivated, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, client‑centered environment. You’ll report to the Head of Partnerships.

What you’ll do

Client Outreach & Engagement

• Answer inbound calls from patients seeking treatment
• Make outbound calls to referred individuals, building rapport and sharing information about Recover’s services
• Follow up with prospective clients who need additional outreach or who are awaiting insurance enrollment

Eligibility & Enrollment

• Confirm insurance status using verification portals
• Search and manage client records in our electronic health record, creating new charts or updating existing ones as needed
• Walk clients through enrollment documents and explain the sign‑up process
• Provide warm hand‑offs to other resources when clients are not eligible for Recover’s services

Scheduling

• Schedule initial appointments based on client preferences for timing, provider, and format

Need to have

• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• 1+ year of experience in a client‑facing role involving phone‑based outreach, intake, admissions, scheduling, or engagement
• Familiarity with healthcare
• Comfortable working independently and managing a high volume of calls and follow‑ups

• Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and explain processes clearly

• Certified or Registered Alcohol Drug Counselor (RADT, CADC-I or higher, or equivalent)
• Experience with EHR systems
