Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented patient access professional in Jackson, MS to gather demographic, insurance, and clinical information and create new patient records.

You will schedule patients with appropriate specialty providers across the BMG system, handle phone inquiries, and use hospital information systems to maintain accurate records and timely communication. Training is provided, EPIC experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Skill in communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral, and verbal format to achieve high productivity and efficiency.
• Knowledge of EPIC or other electronic medical records (preferred).
• Front desk scheduling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides coordination of patient flow by following established scheduling procedures and protocols for specialty providers.
• Handles phone calls for all internal and external customers into the department.
• Competently uses the hospital information and telecommunications systems to maintain records, correspondence, and reports to facilitate timely communication and accurate documentation.
• Communicates with staff and customers by maintaining, receiving, conveying and recording information accurately.
• Completes assigned goals.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
