Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Current AHA BLS certification within 3 months.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; prior healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides care, treatments, and services within the LNA scope of practice as delegated and supervised by an LPN/RN.
• Works with a multidisciplinary team to assist with patient and unit needs.
• Performs clerical duties to maintain a well-supplied, safe, and clean patient unit; stocks equipment and monitors for expired items.
• Immediately reports changes in patient condition to the primary nurse and informs RN/LPN of patient concerns.
• Assists with ambulation, dressing, and securing clothing and belongings as per policy.
• Assists with delivery of meal trays and setup.
• Documents observations, including restraints, in the medical record timely.
• Maintains patient confidentiality; discusses information only with assigned staff.
• Communicates professionally with patients; acknowledges complaints and refers concerns to nurse.
• Answers call lights and secures resources to address patient needs.
• Performs hourly rounding for patient experience and safety checks.
• Transports patients within the hospital as needed.
• Answers telephones and completes other clerical duties as assigned.
• Maintains overall unit organization and cleanliness.
