Intermountain Health Alta View Hospital in Sandy, Utah is seeking a Security Officer to protect patients, staff and visitors. Responsibilities include monitoring security systems, responding to incidents, enforcing policies, and coordinating with HR or law enforcement on investigations.

The role emphasizes de-escalation, safety inspections, and drills to prepare for emergencies. Requires a valid driver’s license, BLS (or willingness to obtain), and 21+ years of age.

Formación

• Must have valid driver’s license (if driving)
• BLS certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire
• At least 21 years of age

Responsabilidades

• Operates and monitors security technology systems, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems.
• De-escalation: use verbal and non-verbal strategies to calm individuals and resolve conflicts peacefully.
• Dealing with Violent Patients: intervene to protect safety when patients act aggressively or violently, including using physical restraints when necessary.
• Regulatory Compliance: ensure compliance with HIPAA when reporting crimes or incidents, disclose only the minimum information.
• Bomb Threat/Suspicious Package Responses: respond according to protocols to ensure safety.
• Participation in Drills: engage in infant abduction and active shooter drills.
• Conducting Searches: perform searches of patients and narcotics with legal compliance.
• Safety Inspections: inspect walking surfaces, fire extinguishers, and overall facility safety.
• Parking Enforcement: enforce parking regulations to enhance safety and patient experience.
• Investigations: collaborate with HR and law enforcement to conduct investigations and protect facility safety.
