Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Security Officer to provide professional security services that support a safe hospital environment and enhance the patient experience. The role works in collaboration with Patient Care Services and other departments to ensure safety and calm in the facility.

Responsibilities include 1:1 patient observation, patrols, incident reporting, parking enforcement, and responding to emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of security experience or coursework toward Criminal Justice or Certified Healthcare Security Officer.
• Current Class D Driver’s License.
• AVADE certification within 1 year of hire and yearly recertification.
• Life Support Certification required: BLS or Heart Saver.

Responsibilities

• Performs one-to-one and close observation of patients in collaboration with Patient Care Services.
• Conducts interior and exterior patrols to inspect grounds for criminal activity and safety hazards.
• Provides safety escorts upon request.
• Enforces parking regulations and assists with traffic control.
• Investigates lost or stolen items and alarms/calls; responds to emergencies.
• Supports shuttle services when needed and transports bodies per protocol.
