Job summary

Freeman Health System is seeking a Risk Management and Patient Safety Specialist to advance a culture of safety and high reliability. You will analyze patient safety events, perform RCAs, and lead initiatives to mitigate risk and improve outcomes across Freeman Health System.

You will work with clinical and operational leaders, oversee PSES reporting to PSO, and support liability claim administration while upholding regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
• Strong knowledge of patient safety principles, event investigation methodologies and root cause analysis.
• Experience with risk management, patient safety, healthcare quality, or performance improvement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead claim intake and triage, evaluate liability exposure and identify risk trends.
• Coordinate the discovery process including interrogatories, document production and depositions.
• Collaborate with operational leaders, insurers, brokers and legal counsel to support risk management and litigation strategies.
• Represent the organization in administrative proceedings, hearings or mediations when needed.
