Job summary

Central Maine Healthcare seeks a Patient Safety Program Manager to support a system-wide approach to measure, evaluate, and improve patient safety. The role involves ensuring compliance with Maine Sentinel Event law, conducting RCA, and leading safety assessments across the network.

The position requires current RN licensure, with a preferred Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of clinical experience. A Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification is also preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Five years of clinical experience or demonstrated understanding of ambulatory and acute care clinical practices.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports system-wide patient safety measurement, evaluation and improvement.
  • Ensures compliance with Maine Sentinel Event law and investigates sentinel events.
  • Conducts root cause analysis (RCA) and leads safety assessments and failure modes effects analysis.
  • Coordinates and aligns system leaders to identify patient safety risks and promotes a culture of safety.
