Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a Program Manager in Patient Safety and Risk Management to provide executive leadership for site-level patient safety programs. The role focuses on risk reduction, incident reporting, education, and system-wide safety initiatives within a large health-care network.

The ideal candidate will hold a clinical degree with a Bachelor’s and at least five years of healthcare risk management experience, plus CPHP/CPS certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in clinical field.
• Minimum of five years healthcare experience in risk and patient safety management.
• Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) or other patient safety training/certification desired (CPPS, IHI Executive Development).

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and oversight for all patient safety endeavors at the site including: Prevention, Detection and Correction of Patient Safety events.
• Staff education in error reduction and promotion of a culture of safety.
• Develops and implements Patient Safety Annual Goals and Objectives aligned with the McLaren Strategic Plan.
• Develops and presents education programs addressing areas of concern in patient safety.
• Conducts investigations and root cause analyses for patient safety events with recommendations to leadership.
• Co-chairs the patient safety committee with CMO and collaborates with clinical leadership to minimize incidents.

Education

Bachelor's degree in clinical field
