Ochsner Health is seeking a Patient Safety Officer to develop and manage systems that proactively predict, detect, monitor, and reduce patient safety events. You will partner with Legal, Quality, and Clinical leadership to implement policy changes and drive safety initiatives.

Strong analytics and cross-functional collaboration are essential for success. The role requires at least two years of clinical background with exposure to risk and quality management, and certification in patient safety

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field is required.
• Minimum two years clinical background, risk management, quality management or legal nurse consulting experience preferred.
• CPHRM certification required within 18 months of employment.

Aufgaben

• Promotes patient safety through training, implementation, and improvements using proven methods.
• Provides recommendations to operational owners to implement strategies and policies that promote patient safety.
• Ensures patient safety occurrence reporting including trending and reporting of results; lead root-cause/failure mode analyses as needed.
• Monitors safety events and ensures investigations and responses for serious events.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to review trends and enhance patient safety initiatives.
• Supports staff and residents with education on patient safety issues.
• Participates in committees and annual review of the patient safety program.
