Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking a patient safety coordinator to implement system safety strategies and promote a culture of safety across the organization. You will review safety reports, conduct risk assessments, and communicate trends to leaders while partnering with Infection Prevention, Quality, and Risk to strengthen the Pulse program.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Nursing or healthcare field and at least 2 years in patient safety, with certification progress toward CPPS/CPHQ/CPRM

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Healthcare related field.
  • Two years related experience; hospital/health care patient safety experience preferred.
  • Certifications: CPPS, CPHRM, ARM, or CPHQ required within two years of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement system patient safety strategies and best practices locally.
  • Promote a culture of safety and high reliability; support adherence to Pulse program elements and regulatory standards.
  • Review Pulse Power reports; conduct investigations and risk assessments; communicate trends for improvement.
  • Develop and participate in trainings; support system level assignments and safety education.
  • Partner with Infection Prevention, Quality, Experience, Advocacy, Accreditation, Clinical Quality Data, and Risk to integrate data.
  • Lead RCA processes; develop robust action plans and disseminate lessons learned.
  • Prepare and participate in reporting to Leadership, Governing Board, and committees; yearly program review.
