Job summary

Baptist Health in Louisville, KY, is seeking a Patient Safety Officer to coordinate and support patient safety and risk management across the system. You will manage PSES activities and PSWP, and work with clinical leaders to reduce undesirable events and trends in patient care and facility management.

Collaborating with leaders, physicians, staff, and BH Legal, you will participate in proactive risk assessments and recommend preventative or remedial solutions to enhance safety and minimize harm

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or clinically related Healthcare Field.
• Minimum of 5 years job-related experience.
• CPHRM certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide direct clinical support for patient safety and risk management.
• Manage Patient Safety Evaluation System (PSES) and Patient Safety Work Product (PSWP).
• Support Department strategies and operations with leadership and clinical providers.

Baptist Health is looking for a Patient Safety Officer to join our team in Louisville, KY! Coordinates and provides direct clinical support for the patient safety and the risk management program. Manages Patient Safety Evaluation System (PSES) activities, including the management of Patient Safety Work Product (PSWP). Also provides support to the Patient Safety-Risk Management Department overall strategies and operations. Works with Clinical Providers and Leadership to improve processes and reduce frequency and severity of undesirable events or trends in patient care or facility management. The Patient Safety Officer participates in pro-active risk assessments based on relevant literature. Works with the Director of Patient Safety and Risk Management to provide oversight; recommends preventative and/or remedial solutions that will improve safety, reduce hazards, prevent loss, transfer risks, and minimize the chance of harm to patients, visitors, staff, and the organization. Works closely with the leaders, physicians, employees, other key operational stakeholders and BH Legal Department and Counsel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Nursing or clinically related Healthcare Field.
• 5 years job-related experience.
• CPHRM (Certified Professional Healthcare Risk Manager) preferred.
• Travel required.
