Job summary

St. Charles Health System Inc. seeks a Patient Safety Assistant for part-time, day shifts across Bend, Redmond, Prineville and Madras.

The PSA provides constant observation to patients at risk for harm, under RN supervision, to ensure safety and comfort while following established protocols. Responsibilities include room checks, ADL assistance, accurate documentation, and adherence to safety measures. Travel between campuses is required, with a focus on compassionate, professional patient care

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or GED.
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification required prior to orientation.
• Preferred: CNA, EMT, or Medical Assistant certifications.
• Experience: Acute health care, behavioral health, long-term care, or licensed childcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides continuous monitoring with constant visual observation.
• Reports changes in patient behavior or condition to nursing staff.
• Performs room checks to remove potentially harmful items.
• Assists with activities of daily living as needed.
• Interacts with patients of all ages with a therapeutic, respectful approach.
