Job Summary and Qualifications

The Patient Safety Attendant (PSA) provides continuous observation and monitoring for high-risk patients, ensuring a safe environment and assisting with basic activities of daily living.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintaining direct line of sight with the patient at all times.
• Ensuring patient safety during transportation, testing, and procedures.
• Establishing a safe environment using fall prevention, infection control, and self-harm prevention protocols.
• Documenting patient status accurately.
• Assisting nursing staff and performing other duties as needed.
• Participating in team and performance improvement activities.
• Restocking supplies as needed.

Qualifications:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 90 days.
• Previous patient care experience preferred.
