The role you’ll contribute:

The Patient Safety Attendant (PSA) participates in high-quality, patient-centered care by providing continuous observation and monitoring for high-risk patients. In collaboration with the patient care team, the PSA ensures the patient environment is free of obstacles and minimizes the risk of falls and self-harm. The PSA may also assist with basic activities of daily living.

• Maintains a direct line of sight with the patient at all times, including when family or visitors are in the room.
• Accompanies the patient and ensures safety during transportation, testing, and procedures away from the patient’s environment.
• Promotes positive patient interactions that support excellent patient service.
• Serves as a resource to staff, students, volunteers, and other departments, contributing to teamwork and quality care.
• Monitors the patient's physical and emotional condition, reporting changes promptly while maintaining visual contact.
• Performs other duties as needed when not providing direct observation.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• BLS certification within 90 days
• De-Escalation Training within 90 days
• At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting

Preferred qualifications: Clinical experience in a healthcare-related environment.
