Job Summary and Qualifications

The Patient Safety Attendant (PSA) provides continuous observation and monitoring for high-risk patients, ensuring a safe environment and assisting with basic activities of daily living.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining visual contact with the patient at all times, including during visits from family or visitors.
  • Ensuring patient safety during transportation, testing, and procedures.
  • Creating a safe environment by following fall prevention, infection control, and self-harm protocols.
  • Documenting patient status accurately.
  • Assisting nursing staff with tasks when not observing patients.
  • Participating in performance improvement activities.
  • Restocking supplies as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
  • High School Graduate or GED.
