Job Summary:

Performs basic patient monitoring activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Remains at bedside of assigned patient unless relieved by an appropriate staff member.
• Assists in calming and reorienting patients in cases of agitation or confusion.
• Removes hazards and reports broken equipment.
• Documents observations according to hospital guidelines.
• Reviews patient care plan with nurse at shift start to ensure understanding of goals and responsibilities.
• Follows isolation precautions as indicated.
• Monitors equipment and notifies nursing staff of alarms.
• Works safely and remains alert at all times.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

• Constant standing, walking, and frequent use of hearing, speech, vision, and physical strength for various tasks.
• Occasional bending, stooping, crawling, lifting up to 50 lbs., and patient movement.
