The Houseman and Public Area Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and appearance of all public spaces within the hotel, including lobbies, restrooms, hallways, and other common areas. The role also provides support to room attendants and the housekeeping department by delivering linens, removing trash, and replenishing supplies. A strong commitment to guest satisfaction and adherence to Marriott brand standards is essential.
Clean and maintain hotel lobbies, elevators, corridors, stairwells, fitness center, pool, concierge lounge, and public restrooms.
Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and fittings.
Vacuum carpets, mop hard floors, and clean glass surfaces and doors.
Ensure cleanliness and presentation of entrances, including sidewalks and ashtrays.
Monitor and restock public restrooms with supplies (tissue, soap, towels).
Maintain cleanliness of back-of-house areas such as employee restrooms and locker rooms.
Deliver clean linens and amenities to room attendants and guest rooms.
Remove soiled linen, trash, and recyclables from guest room floors and housekeeper closets.
Organize and replenish housekeeping closets with all necessary linens and supplies.
Respond to guest/maintenance requests through the guests experience platform application.
Report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor immediately.
Effective communication skills are required. This role requires constant communication between housekeeping, front desk and engineering.
Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner, responding to inquiries and requests.
Respond to guest inquiries with a high sense of urgency
Ensure guest areas are welcoming, well-maintained, and clean at all times.
Provide wonderful hospitality always
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience in a hotel setting is a plus.
Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.
Strong attention to detail and customer service orientation.
Physically able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and be on feet for extended periods.
