Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center is seeking a patient safety attendant to monitor and maintain patient safety and security under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This PRN position entails observing patients needing frequent or continual observation and providing a safe environment in a rotating shift.

The role requires CPI certification within 6 months of hire, English reading/writing/speaking ability, and a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• CPI certification required; must be obtained with 6 months of hire.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Proactively ensure and maintain patient safety and security under direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Observe and monitor safety and comfort of non-suicidal, suicidal, and other patients requiring observation.
• Support daily operations to ensure a safe patient environment.

As a patient safety attendant at MercyOne, you will be responsible for proactively ensuring and maintaining patient safety and security under the direction of Registered Nurse. Observes and monitors safety and comfort of non-suicidal, suicidal and patients who require frequent or continual observation and contact, due to psychiatric, medical and/or safety reasons.
