Job summary

MercyOne Medical Group in Iowa is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to join our health care team. You will work with clinicians to provide outcome-based patient care, observe responses to interventions, and report progress while upholding MercyOne's mission and values.

This full-time role is 0.9 FTE (36 hours weekly) on night shift from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, with weekend and holiday rotations. Education includes Nurse Aide courses; Nurse Aide II is a plus and may be provided post-hire.

• Assists the patient care team in the delivery of care.
• Communicates relevant clinical information to others to optimize patient outcomes/goals.

Description:

As a Patient Care Assistant at MercyOne, you will work collaboratively with the health care team to provide outcome/goal-based patient care. Observes and reports the patient’s response and progress to interventions. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of MercyOne.

Schedule:

• Full time, 0.9 FTE (36 hours per week)

• Night shift 7:00pm - 7:00am

• Weekend and holiday rotation required

General Requirements:

• Supports the team in identifying patient needs and implementing the outcome/goal-based plan of care.

Education:

Verification (by transcript or certification) of successful completion of one of the following:

• Nurse Aide I Course

• Nursing Fundamentals Course

• Nurse Aid Competency Test

• Successful completion of the Trinity Nursing Assistant Program (TNAP)

• Nurse Aide II - Advanced Course is preferred and may be provided post-hire.

Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff and physicians while performing their job duties.
