Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System in Great Bend is seeking a Registration Clerk to handle inpatient/outpatient registrations during nights and weekends. You will collect patient demographics, insurance information, and perform POS collections while delivering excellent customer service.

As part of the Great Bend Campus, you will balance cash, explain consent forms, and ensure accurate data entry in the EMR.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Clerical, registration and/or customer service experience in health care preferred.
• Knowledge of patient demographics and insurance information is beneficial.
• Experience with hospital codes and medical records is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Register inpatient and outpatient arrivals for the Great Bend Campus.
• Collect co-payments and balance cash drawer at day's end.
• Enter patient information accurately in the computer system.
• Greet patients and verify demographics and insurance details.
• Explain facility policies and obtain required consents and forms.
• Provide coverage across Admitting areas as needed.
