Job summary

Norton Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a patient services clerk to handle registration, data entry, and scheduling in a fast-paced environment. You will collect demographic and insurance information, verify entries across systems, and support seamless patient flow in the clinic.

The role emphasizes customer service, accurate data handling, and coordination of appointments, tests, and referrals. Training is provided; prior healthcare experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• No experience required; we provide comprehensive on-the-job training.
• One year in a healthcare setting is desirable.
• High School Diploma or GED required or preferred if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Register in computerized systems and enter date of service for patients.
• Obtain current demographic and insurance information at each patient encounter and verify entries across systems.
• Obtain payments from patients per Norton Healthcare collection policy.
• Schedule patient appointments in the scheduling system and coordinate tests and consults.
• Obtain precerts/authorizations for diagnostic tests and admissions/transfers.
• Answer, prioritize, and route incoming telephone calls; take complete messages and provide exceptional customer service.
• Coordinate incoming/outgoing correspondence and file charts; assist with chart preparation.
