Job summary

Responsibilities

• Obtain demographic/billing/insurance information and enter into registration/billing systems; provide patient with information concerning insurance, payment of bills and hospital procedures.
• May complete pre-certification and authorizations for managed care.
• Prepare consent form and privacy notices; obtain signatures and electronic consent to treat and patient financial obligations.
• Collect deposits/co-payments/deductibles/patient liability payments; provide receipts and document in systems.
• Prepare armband for patient identification; balance daily receipts and cash drawer; follow up on accounts as indicated by system flags.
