Job summary

HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital is seeking a Registrar to ensure timely and accurate patient registration and collection of account information, including verifying insurance coverage and obtaining necessary authorizations. You will interview patients at workstations or bedside, process charts, and maintain exemplary customer service while adhering to productivity standards and privacy policies.

Strong attention to detail and ability to explain pricing and insurance processes will help families

Qualifications

• 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required

Responsibilities

• Interview patients at workstations or bedside to obtain all necessary account information.
• Provide exemplary customer service.
• Ensure charts are completed and accurate.
• Verify all insurance and obtain pre-certification/authorization.
• Calculate and collect patient liability amounts.
• Ensure that all necessary signatures are obtained for treatment.
• Process patient charts according to paperwork flow needs and established productivity standards.
• Interview incoming patients, relatives and/or other responsible individuals to obtain identifying and demographical information with insurance and financial information.
• Assign Insurance Plans (IPlans) accurately.
• Verify insurance benefits and determine pre-certification/authorization status via online or other resources. Initiate authorization if required and enter numbers into registration system.
• Secure all signatures for treatments, release of medical information, assignment of benefits and payment of services.
• Understand/explain policies regarding services, pricing, insurance billing, and payment of account.
