Kingman Regional Medical Center is seeking a Refund Specialist in our Patient Financial Services team. You will handle refund requests, research returned checks, and ensure timely, accurate refunds while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality.

You will analyze refund data, collaborate with the Accounts Payable department, and support process improvements to minimize cancellations and improve patient experience.

Qualifications

• Must possess knowledge of medical terminology, CPT/ICD-9 coding, and billing workflows.
• Experience with EOB/ERA analysis and healthcare payer processes.
• Familiarity with UB-04 and CMS-1500 forms is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Prepare refund requests and supporting docs to ensure accurate refunds.
• Follow up on checks not cleared and research misaddressed refunds.
• Submit uncashed refunds per state unclaimed property laws.
• Coordinate voids, reissues, and stop payments with Accounts Payable.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality of medical and financial data.
• Review and respond to patient and insurer refund/offset requests.
• Provide data insights to identify refund trends and process improvements.
