Job summary

Responsibilities include verifying insurance coverage, gathering information for financial obligations, and communicating referral details to patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year front office or revenue cycle experience in a health care organization is required.

Responsibilities

• Obtains referral requests from physician.
• Ensures patients are cleared for specialty service office visits.
• Resolves pre-certification, registration and case-related concerns prior to a patient's appointment.
• Verifies insurance coverage for patients.
• Obtains authorizations if needed from insurance coverage.
• Gathers information from insurance carriers and staff to determine patient financial obligations.
• Completes referral paperwork and forwards to the medical office.
• Contacts patients with referral information and provides specialist details.
• Acts as a liaison between hospitals, physicians, health plans, vendors, and patients.
• Covers PSR position as needed.
