Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support patient observation and mobility within a hospital setting.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, the ability to stay mobile, and the capacity to work under isolation precautions as needed. Prior hospital experience is preferred but not required, with comprehensive on-the-job training provided.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• The ability to stay mobile according to the patients' movement including the ability to stand for periods of time.
• Must be able to work in situations with isolation precautions.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• Previous work experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Experience as a Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, Nurse Aide Training, or current Nursing/Psychology student are all preferred.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required prior to performing patient observation.
