Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is looking for a Patient Care Technician to join our team. You will assist patients with mobility, observe isolation precautions, and support nursing staff in a fast-paced hospital setting.

A high school diploma or GED is required; BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required before observing patients. Prior hospital experience is preferred but not mandatory. We value collaboration, community commitment, and a culture that helps teammates thrive.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• The ability to stay mobile according to the patients' movement including the ability to stand for periods of time.
• Must be able to work in situations with isolation precautions.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• Previous work experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Experience as a Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, Nurse Aide Training, or current Nursing/Psychology student are all preferred.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required prior to performing patient observation.
