Job summary

Compass Group USA through TouchPoint Support Services is hiring for a Patient Observation Assistant at Columbia St. Mary in Milwaukee, WI.

This role provides visual and audible observation of assigned patients under RN supervision and unit management, ensuring safety and comfort with compassionate care. Requirements include a High School Diploma, CPR/AED or BLS-HCP certification within 30 days, ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds, and 1–2 years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• Current CPR AED or BLS-HCP certification within 30 days of hire, if required at the facility.
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods. Requires bending, stooping, reaching up, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• One to two years of previous experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visually and audibly monitors the assigned patient's condition and behavior at all times.
• Completes observation reports at established interval.
• Assists with providing compassionate care and engaging with staff, patients, visitors and coworkers.
• Remains at the bedside of the assigned patient when possible to ensure safety and response to needs.
• Assists with patient safety, reports hazards, and escalates concerns to nursing staff.
