Xanitos is hiring Patient Observation Assistants for all shifts at PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center in Longview, WA. This on-site, full-time role pays $19 per hour and requires a High School diploma with vaccination and background checks.

The position emphasizes bedside observation, patient safety, rapid escalation to nursing staff, and collaboration with hospital personnel. Training (including BLS/CPR) is provided, with benefits such as health coverage and 401k.

Qualifications

• Post-Offer Medical, Background Screening and Drug Test required.
• Successful applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment.
• Ability to read and understand written English communication.
• CPR AED or basic life support healthcare provider (BLS-HCP) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient condition and behavior at all times (visually and audibly).
• Stay at the bedside unless relieved by staff.
• Redirect patient from at-risk behaviors.
• Complete observation reports on schedule.
• Interact professionally with staff, patients and visitors.
• Immediately summon nursing staff if assistance is needed or safety concerns arise.
• Identify and report patient safety issues to charge nurse.
