Job summary

Xanitos, Inc. is hiring a Part-Time Patient Observation Assistant (POA) for all shifts at PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center in Longview, WA. The POA will monitor assigned patients visually and audibly, staying at the bedside and coordinating with RNs to ensure safety and comfort.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, vaccination, CPR/BLS certification, and the ability to read/understand English. Training is provided; benefits include standard healthcare options and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Post-Offer Medical, Background Screening and Drug Test required.
• Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and understand written English communication including patient identifiers, pick and receiving location, isolation precaution notifications and other important patient information.
• CPR AED or BLS-HCP certification required.
• Training and certifications provided by Xanitos.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the patient’s condition visually and audibly at all times.
• Remain at the bedside unless relieved by staff.
• Redirect the patient from at-risk behaviors.
• Complete observation reports at assigned times.
• Interact with staff, patients, visitors, and colleagues in a supportive, professional manner.
• Immediately summon nursing staff if assistance is needed or if unsafe situations arise.
• Identify and report patient safety issues and environmental hazards.
