Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Patient Observation Attendant to support multiple hospital campuses with flexible full-time or part-time shifts. You will observe patients, interact with the care team, and help maintain a safe environment under RN supervision.

Positions require travel between campuses as needed and adherence to unit policies for holiday and weekend coverage. A high school diploma is preferred and mandatory education for the role is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must complete mandatory education and competencies required for position.
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients and care teams.

Responsibilities

• Reports on/off duty to the registered nurse assigned to care for patient.
• Receives specific observation guidelines from the registered nurse for each patient/shift/assignment.
• Provides a safe environment for the patient, under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Provides constant observation of patient(s) as directed by registered nurse.
• Continuously observe patient(s) from a secure, centralized location.
• Maintain contact with the bedside care team and notify staff when there is imminent danger.
