Job Summary

Summary: Provides visual and audible observation of patients under RN and manager supervision.

Essential Duties:

• Monitor patient condition and behavior constantly.
• Complete observation reports regularly.
• Respond to patient needs with compassion and interact cheerfully with staff, patients, visitors, and colleagues.
• Remain at the bedside unless relieved.
• Redirect at-risk behaviors verbally.
• Seek help when patient shows distress or danger.
• Report safety issues and hazards.
• Assist in calming and reorienting patients.
• Help keep patient rooms safe and orderly.
• Accompany patients for testing.
• Report any dangerous behaviors immediately.
• Participate in shift handoffs and communicate effectively.
• Assist with patient meals and mobility.
• Respond swiftly to emergencies.
• Follow department policies and confidentiality rules.
• Participate in ongoing training and respond to supervisor needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR/BLS certification required within 30 days if applicable.
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds.
• 1-2 years of experience preferred.
