PATIENT OBSERVATION ASSISTANT (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

Join TouchPoint Support Services as a Patient Observation Assistant! We are hiring immediately for both full-time and part-time positions at our Henry Ford Warren location, 11800 Twelve Mile Road, Warren, MI 48093. Online applications are accepted only.

• Schedule: Full-time and part-time; Monday through Friday, including rotating weekends and holidays; hours may vary. More details provided during interview.
• Requirement: Prior BLS certification is preferred; willing to train.
• Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Provide visual and audible observation of assigned patients under RN and unit manager supervision, ensuring safety and responding to patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient condition and behavior continuously.
• Complete observation reports at set intervals.
• Respond compassionately to patient needs and interact supportively with staff and visitors.
• Remain bedside unless relieved; redirect at-risk behaviors verbally.
• Report medical distress or safety hazards promptly.
• Assist in calming, reorienting, and supporting patients.
• Participate in safety reporting and environment safety checks.
• Assist with patient mobility, meals, and diagnostic tests as needed.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and unusual behaviors.
• Follow department policies, maintain confidentiality, and participate in training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• CPR/AED or BLS certification required within 30 days of hire if applicable.
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform physical tasks.
• Preferred: 1-2 years of experience.
