Crothall Healthcare, a Compass Healthcare company, is hiring Patient Observation Assistants for full-time and part-time roles at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, GA. The position features 12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00 or 19:00–07:00) with three full-time days or two part-time days per week.

Prior patient care experience is preferred, and immediate start is encouraged. Compensation is a fixed pay rate of $14.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• Current CPR AED or BLS-HCP certification required within 30 days of hire, if required at the facility.
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; lift up to 50 pounds.
• One to two years of previous healthcare patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visually and audibly monitors the assigned patient's condition and behavior at all times.
• Completes observation reports at established interval.
• Takes initiative in compassionately rendering service or responding to needs and interacts with staff, patients, visitors and coworkers.
• Remains at the bedside of the assigned patient at all times unless relieved by staff.
• Verbally redirects the patient from engaging in at-risk behaviors.
• Escalates to assigned medical professionals when patient is in distress or poses a threat.
• Assists in keeping patient environment safe and reporting safety hazards.
