Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a Day shift, full-time Dietary Assistant for the Largo, MD area. Responsibilities include serving as the primary contact for nutrition services, distributing and assembling patient meals according to diet guidelines, and delivering trays to patient floors with Meal Delivery Carts.

Qualifications

• One year of food preparation experience, preferably in a large-scale institutional dietary setting.
• Experience in handling meals and patient nutrition preferences is preferred.
• Strong hygienic practices and ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for nutrition services on the patient unit.
• Distribute, assist, collect and correct patient menu selections.
• Deliver patient trays to floors using Meal Delivery Carts.
• Assemble meal trays according to patient selections and diet guidelines.
• Record intake and temperatures as required and maintain kitchen areas.
