Job summary

UW Health in Madison, WI is seeking a Patient Nutrition Assistant to provide patient-focused dining experiences and support for both adult and pediatric patients. You will join a skilled culinary team and contribute to unique meal preparation and delivery with an emphasis on care and safety.

The role emphasizes accurate tray assembly, sanitation, and adaptability to a dynamic hospital kitchen setting while supporting patient comfort and nutrition needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Food service and/or customer service experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification preferred.

Job description

Work Schedule :
100% FTE, day/evening shift. Start times range from 5:00AM – 7:00AM. Every other weekend required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

We are seeking a Patient Nutrition Assistant who:

• Prioritizes patient care above all other duties.
• Accurately assembles and delivers patient meal trays.
• Maintains kitchen order by ensuring cleanliness of work areas.
• Sanitizes dishes, cookware, equipment, and environment.
• Is comfortable working in a fast-paced and continually changing environment.

Patient Nutrition Assistants are eligible for:

• Paid time off, including 15 days of vacation time for full-time employees.
