Job summary

Shirley Ryan AbilityLab is seeking a Food Service Shift Supervisor to lead kitchen staff and oversee patient meal service. You will train employees, plan schedules, and ensure safety and quality in accordance with established guidelines.

This role reports to the Food and Nutrition Services Director and involves coordinating with nursing to optimize meal delivery and patient satisfaction. The position emphasizes leadership, adherence to HACCP standards, and collaboration with vendors and other

Qualifications

• Experience leading kitchen staff and coordinating meal service.
• Ability to train and schedule staff to ensure proper coverage.
• Familiarity with food safety guidelines and HACCP standards.

Responsibilities

• Direct the activities of Food Service staff during a shift.
• Coordinate patient meal service through the patient services program.
• Provide training and create work schedules to ensure proper staffing.
• Evaluate performance and provide feedback.
• Prepare quality assurance reports for management.
• Mentor employees and encourage advancement.
• Oversee catering events and day-to-day activities with vendors.
• Interact with nursing to review patient meal selections and tray delivery.
• Resolve patient concerns and maintain cash handling processes.
