Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a service-oriented food service associate to assemble patient and visitor meals in a hospital setting. You will load carts, deliver trays to patient rooms, and help maintain cafeteria operations with a focus on safety and efficiency.

No formal education is required and prior food service is helpful. Good communication, basic computer skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Qualifications

• No formal education is required.
• Basic knowledge of food service in hospital, hotel, or restaurant settings.
• Ability to read and understand written communications.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Intermediate computer skills; able to use email/internet.

Responsibilities

• Assembles patient and mobile meal trays according to diet guidelines and productivity standards.
• Loads, transports food carts and delivers trays to patient rooms per procedures.
• Delivers meals to visitors in cafeteria and assists with cash register tasks as needed.
• Performs cleaning duties in kitchen and cafeteria per sanitation procedures.
• Assists with catering events, including setup, presentation and decorations.
• Prepares snacks, beverages, sandwiches and other patient foods per recipes and portions.
• Maintains stock of food, beverages, and condiments in retail and kitchen areas.
• Delivers and stocks in nursing units, doctors’ lounges, and ER/Same Day Surgery per procedures.
• Monitors food temperatures and ensures safe handling to prevent foodborne illness.
