Job summary

Memorial Health System is seeking a Food Service Worker to assemble patient food trays, perform light food preparation, and assist with cafeteria service. Duties include cleaning, cart delivery, dishwashing, and cash register operation while maintaining confidentiality and high cleanliness standards.

The role requires basic education (High School Diploma or GED) and physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for long periods. A positive, customer-focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent training and/or experience required.
• Ability to read, write and do math as generally demonstrated by a high school diploma or GED.
• Manual dexterity.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds and walk/stand for most of the work shift.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and clean patient food trays and assist with simple food and nourishment preparation.
• Assist with food and beverage service at special functions.
• Sweep, mop and remove garbage to maintain a clean work area.
• Deliver and retrieve patient food tray carts to and from nursing units.
• Wash pots and pans and operate the cafeteria cash register.
• Serve food and maintain a neat, well-stocked café and ensure customer satisfaction.
