Job summary

ChristianaCare Health Services is seeking a dedicated Food Service Assistant I to support our Food & Nutrition Services team. You will assemble patient meals, ensure dietary accuracy, and maintain high standards of food safety and customer service in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include tray assembly, portion control, diet modifications, and sanitation, with shifts from 6:30am–3pm or 11am–7:30pm. This full-time role emphasizes teamwork and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or enrollment is preferred.
• Excellent reading and writing abilities and clear verbal communication.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in meal assembly and sanitation.
• Ability to work as part of a hospital Food & Nutrition Services team.

Responsibilities

• Assemble patient meal trays accurately according to tickets and schedules.
• Ensure proper portion control and attractive presentation of food items.
• Read and assemble meals for regular and therapeutic diets, including textures and liquids.
• Maintain sanitation, operate dish machines, and document required temps.
