Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking a Part-Time Food Service Assistant I for the Newark campus, joining the Food & Nutrition Services team. The role requires reliability, attention to detail, and a passion for patient-centered service.

Shifts are rotating between 6:30 AM and 9:30 PM, with a mix of 6:30am-3:00pm, 10:30am-6:00pm, and 3:00pm-9:00pm. Every other weekend and holiday rotations are required, plus adherence to safety protocols and infection prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
• Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform tasks like standing, walking, bending, and reaching.

Responsibilities

• Assemble patient meal trays with care and accuracy, following dietary guidelines.
• Prepare trays for modified diets (e.g., pureed foods, thickened liquids).
• Operate dish machines and maintain sanitation stations.
• Ensure cleanliness and safety in all kitchen areas.
• Monitor equipment temperatures and sanitation levels.
• Follow infection prevention protocols, including proper food storage and glove use.
