ChristianaCare is seeking a dedicated Food Service Assistant I to support our Food & Nutrition Services team. You will help ensure patients receive accurate meals that meet dietary needs while upholding food safety, sanitation, and exceptional customer service standards.

The role involves assembling meals for regular and therapeutic diets, maintaining clean work areas, and collaborating with the department to ensure timely service. Starting at $17.80/hour with scheduled increases based on tenure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, or currently enrolled in high school.

Responsabilités

• Assemble high-volume patient meal trays accurately and efficiently according to tray line meal tickets and delivery schedules.
• Ensure proper placement, portion control, and presentation of all food items on patient trays.
• Read, interpret, and assemble meals for regular and therapeutic diets, including modified textures and liquid consistencies.
• Replenish hot and cold food items to support patient meal service operations.
• Perform ware washing, pot washing, sanitation, and utility functions per departmental standards.
• Operate dish machines and ware washing equipment while monitoring sanitation temperatures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment following sanitation procedures.
