Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a compassionate food service associate to safely prepare and serve meals to patients, retail customers, and guests at our New York facilities. You will interact with patients respectfully, assist with meal tray assembly, and help maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen and pantry area.

Responsibilities include taking meal orders on a computerized tablet, delivering trays to patients with proper identification, restocking and rotating stock, and participating in department

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Must be able to read and comprehend written menus, dietary reports, and computer screens.
• Applies basic computer skills for data entry and retrieval.
• Must have the ability to communicate and to understand the communication of others.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals to patients and customers.
• Take meal orders using a computerized tablet.
• Assemble patient meal trays per Nutrition Care Manual.
• Deliver trays to patients with correct identification.
• Maintain sanitation of surfaces and equipment.
• Participate in departmental performance improvement projects.
