Job summary

Cantex is seeking a Cook/Assistant Chef for a Skilled Nursing Facility in Round Rock, TX. You will ensure meals are prepared and portioned per menus, in a sanitized environment, and in compliance with health regulations.

The role requires a state Food Manager Certificate and English proficiency, with preferred experience in healthcare food service. Sign-on bonus offered and a comprehensive benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• Current state Food Manager Certificate required.
• Experience in quality food preparation and production in long-term care or healthcare settings preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Prepares or directs preparation of food items on assigned/scheduled menus.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment and utensils and work areas.
• Labels, dates, and stores food items and leftovers appropriately.
• Assists in training and supervision of staff as needed.
• Instructs and supervises workers in equipment care when the Nutrition Services Director is absent.
