Job summary

Beacon Health System is seeking a hospital dietary services associate to prepare and deliver patient meals and assist with cafeteria service. You will ensure accurate meal portions, maintain cleanliness, and follow safety and sanitation standards within a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent and be capable of reading menus in English. Prior food service experience in health care is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the different diets to prepare trays properly.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic arithmetic calculations and understand basic instructions.
• Ability to safely operate machinery and equipment such as the dish machine, garbage disposal, steam tables, microwave oven, toaster, blender and/or other small appliances.
• Ability to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy or customer service.
• Must be able to read and understand menus (in English).
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver patient meals according to specifications.
• Set up and serve food in the hospital cafeteria and operate cash register as assigned.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas; follow sanitation standards.
• Follow PPE, safety, and hospital policies; report issues to management.
• Assist with inventory and restocking as needed.
