Job summary

Southern Interventional Pain Center in Thomasville, GA is seeking an LPN or certified Medical Assistant to join our team as a New Patient Intake Coordinator. You will review referrals for pain, medications, history, and insurance; register patients in Athena EMR; verify insurance eligibility; and schedule visits.

You will coordinate imaging and medical records, and communicate with referral offices and case managers.

Responsibilities

• Review each referral for pain complaint, current medications, medical history and insurance.
• Register patients in Athena EMR and upload the referral to the chart
• Verify patient insurance and eligibility
• Call patients to schedule
• Request imaging and medical records
• Email or text new patient links for form completion
• Coordinate with referral offices, nurse case managers and legal offices
• Other duties as assigned such as helping to cover as an MA when coverage is needed
