Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in patient-facing roles or food service is preferred.
• Ability to follow dietary guidelines and special diet orders.
• Strong interpersonal skills with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Exhibits a friendly, caring attitude to patients when taking menu selections and delivering trays.
• Takes patients' menu selections prior to each meal.
• Complies with dietary restrictions and modified diets to meet diet orders.
• Offers alternatives to menu while respecting allergies and cultural preferences.
• Assembles trays according to menu selections accurately and timely.
• Coordinates with nursing staff to ensure diet prescriptions are met and patient needs are addressed.
• Maintains accurate patient information on assigned units.
• Monitors patients on NPO or special diets with dietitian support.
• Adheres to HIPAA, safety, sanitation, and facility policies.
• Participates in quality patient service and timely reporting of issues.
