Qualifications

• Experience as optometric/ophthalmic technician or similar healthcare role.
• Knowledge of basic optometric procedures and pre-testing.
• Experience with contact lens training and patient education.
• Familiarity with insurance authorizations, billing support, and Explanation of Payment processing.
• Strong communication and patient-focused approach.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn EHR and scheduling systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient pre-testing and support before the doctor’s examination.
• Gather and document patient medical history and concerns.
• Train patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care.
• Escort patients to testing areas and maintain exam room flow.
• Assist with appointment-related tasks and front-desk communication.
• Coordinate insurance authorizations and billing support.
