Qualifications

• Certification as Medical Assistant preferred.
• Prior experience in medical/healthcare setting preferred.
• Familiarity with eClinicalWorks (eCW) or similar EMR systems preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures preferred.
• Strong computer and data entry skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
• Strong customer service and patient care skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate physician-directed orders for medication refills, laboratory tests, and diagnostic services.
• Obtain, verify, and document patient medical histories.
• Submit information for insurance verification and prior authorizations.
• Perform front desk duties including patient check-in and check-out.
• Take and record patient vital signs and prepare patients for visits.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR (eCW).
• Schedule patient appointments and assist with clinical documentation.
• Manage incoming/outgoing telephone communications with patients.
• Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and office staff.
• Collaborate with providers, medical assistants, and front desk team members.
• Ensure proper filing and confidentiality of medical records.
• Adhere to OSHA and HIPAA compliance standards.
