Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support across ambulatory settings. You will prepare patients for visits, handle intake data, assist with examinations and procedures, and coordinate referrals and scheduling.

Responsibilities include charting, patient greeting, handling payments, and maintaining supplies. A post-secondary MA program and CPR/BLS certification within 90 days are required or preferred, with paid time off and benefits on

Qualifications

• Graduate of ABHES/CAAHEP-accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent.
• Experience in a clinical setting or rotation preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients, collects assessment data and prepares patient according to specific need.
• Assists in examination, treatment and other clinic procedures.
• Assists with laboratory procedures, screening tests and QI projects.
• Answers telephone and triages/informs appropriate personnel.
• Schedules appointments and updates computerized scheduler.
• Conducts reminder calls to patients.
• Greets and directs patients, visitors, and salespeople.
• Registers patients by verifying records.
• Updates patient charts in the system.
• Coordinates referrals through insurance and other offices.
• Collects payment and issues receipts.
• Maintains medical charts and orders supplies.
